Privacy policy

Your data is yours. Here's exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how you control it.

Last updated: October 2026

What we collect

When you use Agronome.ai we collect:

  • Account information: email address, display name, organization name, role.
  • Operational data you upload: field boundaries, yield records, soil samples, drone imagery, tissue/scouting data, equipment imports.
  • Third-party integration data: when you connect John Deere, CNH, AGCO/PTX, or DJI, we sync the equipment, field, and operations data those services authorize us to read.
  • Usage telemetry: page views, feature interactions, error reports. Used in aggregate to improve the platform.
  • Communications: support tickets, sales conversations, account verification messages.
Data residency

Where it lives

All customer operational data — fields, yields, soil samples, drone imagery, operations records, integration tokens — is stored and processed in Toronto, Canada (Google Cloud's northamerica-northeast2 region). Backups are kept in Canadian dual-region storage. Authentication metadata (your email and a hashed password) is held by Firebase Authentication; Google operates that service on managed Identity Platform infrastructure. See sub-processors for the full vendor list with each service's residency.

How we use your data

  • To provide the platform features you use — rendering your fields, calculating yields, syncing imagery, generating prescriptions.
  • To send transactional notifications (e.g. "your drone job completed", "your soil report is ready").
  • To improve product reliability via aggregated, anonymized usage and error telemetry.
  • To respond to support requests you initiate.

We don't train AI models on your data without your explicit, per-feature consent. Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be derived (e.g. regional yield averages) but never with information that identifies your operation.

We don't sell your data. Ever.

Who can see your data

  • You and the members of your organization you've invited, with permissions you set.
  • Agronome.ai engineers — only when troubleshooting a specific issue you've reported, and only with access that is logged.
  • Sub-processors we use to operate the platform (see the full list).
  • Government or law enforcement if compelled by a valid Canadian legal process. We will notify you unless legally prohibited from doing so.

Website analytics

Our public website (agronome.ai pages such as the home page, the platform and solution pages, security and policy pages, and the request-access page) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it.

  • What it records: the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), your approximate location (country and region), and your device and browser type.
  • Cookies: Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) so it can recognise a returning browser.
  • Where it is processed: by Google on its own infrastructure, which may be outside Canada.
  • Not inside the platform: Google Analytics does not run once you sign in. It never receives your fields, yields, soil samples, imagery, operations records or any other farm data.
  • Not for advertising: we don't use Google Analytics advertising features or share this data for ad targeting.
  • Your choice: you can block it with your browser's cookie or tracking-protection settings, or with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and aligned with provincial privacy expectations, you can:

  • Access every piece of data we hold about you.
  • Export your full operation in standard formats (shapefile, GeoJSON, CSV) from the app at any time.
  • Correct any personal information that's inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and data. Production data is removed within 30 days; backup copies expire within 90.
  • Withdraw consent for any optional processing (e.g. AI training opt-ins).
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we've mishandled your data.

Email privacy@agronome.ai to exercise any of these rights — we respond within 30 days.

Retention

We keep your operational data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, production data is removed within 30 days, and all backup copies expire within 90. Aggregated, anonymized statistics that no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify account owners by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Historical versions are available on request.
